Montgomery County to Hold Free Potassium Iodide Tablet Distribution Events August 23 and 24

NORRISTOWN, PA—The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) will provide free potassium iodide (KI) tablets to Montgomery businesses and residents who live, work, or attend schools within a 10-mile radius of the Limerick Generating Station, as part of ongoing emergency preparedness efforts. 

 

If you have received KI tablets from MCOPH prior to 2024, please check the expiration date since most tablets are expiring this year.

 

BUSINESSES ONLY DISTRIBUTION ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 23:

Businesses located within a 10-mile radius of the Limerick Generating Station may pick up KI tablets on Friday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Businesses interested in attending the pick-up must fill out this registration form by August 19. MCOPH will contact registered businesses via email with the pick-up address after completing the form.

 

RESIDENTS ONLY DRIVE THROUGH DISTRIBUTION ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 24

Residents who live, work or attend school within a 10-mile radius of the Limerick Generating Station may pick up KI tablets on Saturday, August 24, at Limerick Fire Company, 390 W. Ridge Pike, Royersford, PA from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pre-Registration is not required. This distribution will be a drive-through event and residents will be asked to remain in their vehicle to receive KI pills. Residents are welcome to pick up KI for other families or those who are unable to pick them up. This distribution is for residents ONLY and requests from businesses will not be accepted during this event. Adults and children will each receive a two-day supply of KI. Directions detailing when and how to take the tablets and proper storage instructions are provided with the tablets.

 

 

HOW TO GET KI TABLETS ALL YEAR ROUND 

Residents and businesses unable to attend the August events can obtain KI all year round from the MCOPH Pottstown Health Center, 364 East King Street, Pottstown, PA 19464, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call the Pottstown Health Center at 610.970.5040, or complete and submit the online KI Form. MCOPH will contact residents when their KI request is ready for pick-up at the Pottstown Health Center.

 

IMPORTANT: This online KI form is NOT to be completed for the August distribution events.

The form will not be available from August 19 – August 24.
