Burn Ban Issued for East Norriton Township
The East Norriton Township Fire Marshal has issued a Burn Ban in effect for 45 days beginning March 14, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The ban, as permitted under Township Chapters 95 and 97 of the Township Code of Ordinances and § 307 of the 2018 International Fire Code (IFC), shall forbid the following activities:
• Any recreational fire
• Any bonfire
• Any fireworks
The following is not permitted by ordinance at any time, and remains not permitted:
• Ignition of or feeding an open fire
• Burning of any trash/construction debris
• Burning of any yard waste, including but not limited to grass clippings, leaves, and brush
• Burning in the conduct of a salvage operation
• Use of non-permitted incinerators for the destruction/reduction of refuse
The Burn Ban may be extended by Ordinance or cancelled as permitted by the Township. Notice of the Burn Ban is posted within the Township Building and at the Fire Department Stations, Township social media, as well as on the Township website.
The community is reminded that all burning within East Norriton Township must be conducted in accordance with Township Code Chapter 95: Fire Prevention, which outlines all applicable rules and regulations.
