Every three months, each property owner in East Norriton Township receives a bill from the Township for sanitary sewer charges. Effective with the June 2007 billing, the Township implemented a sewer rate redistribution and increase.  The following is a summary of the new sewer rate calculations:

Please note that individual rates are based on water consumption so these rates will fluctuate from quarter to quarter. East Norriton Township receives the water consumption report from the Pennsylvania American Water Company to calculate the sewer charges. Also note that there will only be one charge appearing on your bill for the total amount due.  The following is a summary of the water consumption period which is reflected on your sewer bill:

East Norriton Township enacted provisions that allow for the use of a meter or  measuring device that determines the amount of water used for recreational purposes that is not discharged into the sewer system.  The readings obtained from this meter or  measuring device will be deducted from the total water meter readings and the remainder will be used in computing the sewer bill.  The deduction for water usage not discharged into the system is only allowed if a meter or measuring device is installed.

It is the responsibility of the property owner to purchase, install and maintain the meter or measuring device that is used for determining the water usage that is not discharged into the sewer system.  The appropriate permits and inspections are required.

Upon the installation of this meter or measuring device, please call the sewer department at 610-275-2800 option "3" and the appropriate information will be forwarded to the property owner for submitting the meter's or measuring device's readings.
