In 2008, East Norriton Township enacted and implemented the Local Services Tax. This tax was formerly known as the Emergency and Municipal Services (EMS) Tax and before that the Occupational Privilege Tax. The LST Tax is levied on individuals engaging in an occupation within the boundaries of East Norriton Township at a rate of $52.00 per year. Exemption from this tax applies to individuals who derive less than $12,000.00 of income per year. Employers are required to deduct this tax from the employee's paychecks throughout the year based on the number of payroll periods during the year. LST Taxes must be remitted to:
