East Norriton Township is one of 2,568 municipalities and one of 1,457 Townships of the Second Class in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Located in Montgomery County, East Norriton Township was incorporated on March 9, 1909 through a lawsuit by its citizens that resulted in the breakup of the Township of Norriton into two distinct municipalities known today as East and West Norriton Townships. The Township is governed by a Board of Supervisors comprised of five members who are elected at large for six year terms. They are charged under the Code for Townships of the Second Class with the sworn duty to provide for the HEALTH, SAFETY and WELFARE of its residents.

Markley Street will be closed to northbound traffic between Harding Blvd. and Roberts Street beginning on Monday June 17th as a part of this roadway project. The detour will be posted to divert northbound traffic to Dekalb Street. One lane of Markley Street will remain open southbound from Johnson Highway to Harding Blvd. Periodic stoppages may be encountered during the hours of 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The detour is schedule to last for three years.
